Join the Association
Perry Public Library is organized and governed as an Association Library. It is administered by a Board of Trustees, elected by members of the Association. The purpose of the Association is to maintain and conduct a public library for the benefits of residents of Lake County, Ohio.
Perry Public Library has been an Association Library since 1953. Nineteen of the 251 libraries in Ohio are association libraries, which differ from the four other types of libraries in the state: school district, county, county district and municipality libraries. In a majority of the public libraries in Ohio, trustees are appointed by the officials of a taxing authority.
Membership in the Perry Library Association means you choose Trustees who have the desire and ability to keep improving your library service.
The Association elects the Library Board annually. The Association meets annually on the third Tuesday of October. At the annual meeting, members elect three (3) Trustees to a 3-year term on the 9-member Board and receive an update from library staff.
Any adult resident of Perry Township, Perry Village and North Perry Village may be a voting member of the Association after paying a lifetime membership fee of $1. To become a member of the Association, inquire at the Circulation Desk, print this form and return it to the Library with the $1.00 membership fee.
Become a Member of the Friends of the Library
The Friends of Perry Public Library help support and promote library services in our community. They help run our book sales, the annual auction, and support library programming and special purchases.
With your paid membership, you receive admittance to book sale pre-sales, Friendly Cash Coupons and the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping the Perry Public Library.
Joining is easy; fill out the Friends Membership Application and return it to the library with your dues.

- Life Member $50.00
Membership, except life membership, is for one year.
Friends of the Library welcome donations, whether monetarily or physical books, movies, and more. For financial donations, please make checks payable to Friends of the Library. 3753 Main Street, Perry, Ohio 44081.
Memorial Book Donations: If you would like to have a book dedicated in honor or memoriam of a loved one, please fill out this form, (also available in the library) and turn in at the circulation desk with a check made out to Perry Public Library.
